Stay on top of the latest trends in jewelry this upcoming season. Here are the hottest trends for summer.
Big, Bright, Bold Colors
Make sure you’re adding vibrant hues to your jewelry box in the coming months. Bright, big, bold gemstones are all the rage. Whether you want emeralds, rubellite, tourmalines, sapphires or anything in between, if it’s colorful, it’s in. Learn more about these gemstones on the Yamron blog, but also check out our selection of suitably colorful jewelry.
From a tanzanite and diamond ring to a diamond and multi-color sapphire brooch, you can find a little bit of everything among our current inventory that matches this industry trend.
Floral Designs
Jewelry trends seem to be taking a cheerful mood overall this year. In addition to a rainbow of colors to brighten things up, designers are also incorporating more floral designs. But don’t think that these floral designs are something as cut and dry as a rose-shaped brooch or pendant. Instead, designers are interpreting floral inspiration in their own ways, to create stellar pieces like this platinum and diamond flower necklace, or these diamond flower earrings.
Pearls, Pearls, Pearls
If you haven’t caught on yet, there’s a new overall fashion trend that’s emerged thanks to Gen Z and it’s called pearlcore. According to Refinery 29, this trend means pearls will be found everywhere this year, from the runway to home decor.
The publication notes: “In 2022, people of all ages will embrace pearl accents in their homes, in their jewelry boxes and even as nail art. And in beauty, though we’ve seen the steady rise of statement pearl looks on runways, the upcoming year will see this trend take to the streets. Expect to see a surge in teeny pearls placed carefully around the eyes, three-dimensional nail art and iridescent hairpieces. Arguably the best part about pearls is that they don’t demand a particular style to work. Whether you’re a minimalist, maximalist or skew somewhere in between, there’s a pearlcore aesthetic for you.”
To get started building your own pearlcore collection, check out this pearl and diamond necklace, diamond and black pearl ring or South Sea diamond and pearl necklace.
New Takes on Old Chains
While it’s good to always have some classic, simple chains in your jewelry collection, this year is the time to add some new takes on this classic piece to your wardrobe. Beyond the typical delicate chain, industrial-style chains or even colored chains are coming into vogue. You’ll also find chains used in pieces beyond necklaces and bracelets. From earrings to rings, chains are in. Intrigued? Check out options like this Gubelin chain necklace or this Vernier titanium mon jeu chain necklace.
Unique Timepieces
Every woman needs a watch in her jewelry collection, but this year’s watches are trendier than others. While, often, timepieces (other than themed timepieces) stick to the same ol’, same ol’, designers are really breaking the mold this season with new colors, shapes and stones, for unique looks. Yamron offers a range of watches for both men and women, from brands such as Rolex and Bvlgari, so you can pick the perfect timepiece for you — whether you want to go with something brand-new and daringly eye-catching, or something that’s a little more subdued.
Maximalism
Minimalism was all the rage for the longest time, but now collectors and hoarders can rejoice. Maximalism is back in a variety of settings, including at the jewelry store. So, go ahead and wear multiple bracelets on both arms. Stack your rings. Layer your necklaces. While layering and stacking may have been held to strict rules in years past, that’s not quite the way it is now. In fact, many stylists say there’s now no wrong or right way to “maximize” your jewelry look.
Bigger (Earrings) are Better
Likewise, while you can wear bigger, bolder looks overall, you can also now wear bigger, bolder earrings. So, this summer, set aside your favorite pair of studs and go for hoops, big buttons or drop earrings. Anything goes, as long as it’s big.
Need to add a few pairs to your collection? Check out these hoops featuring 18 karat rose gold and 24 round brilliant cut diamonds totaling 3.46 carats, or these gorgeous diamond chandelier earrings. Don’t forget to add in some bright pops of color when you pick your new fav pair of oversized earrings, so you can take advantage of two trends at once. You can’t go wrong with these sapphire swirl earrings or these Robert Prop De La Vie drop earrings that show off a rainbow of hues (and they even feature a bit of floral inspiration!).
Vintage Vibes
Some of this summer’s hottest jewelry looks are giving us serious vintage vibes. However, you’ll find that today’s pieces harken back to more than just one past decade. While popular Art Deco-style pieces are reminiscent of the 1920s, you’ll also find more of your favorite celebs and influences rocking enamel and plastic-based jewelry for a 1980s and 1990s feel. Whichever your preferred decade, you can find both new and antique pieces that are right on trend.
Collar Necklaces
While you may have chokers in your jewelry collection already, now’s the time to upgrade to a bigger, bolder collar necklace. Just make sure that you style it correctly. While a thinner choker may work well with a maximalist layered look, a thicker collar necklace might not achieve the same effect. Often, when we see these necklaces worn on the runway or red carpet, they’re worn alone, and typically with a plunging neckline or strapless top.
Riviere Necklaces
Similarly, riviere necklaces are making quite a lot of appearances on runways and red carpets this season.
If you’re not familiar with the term, typically, a riviere necklace is made up of all the same gemstones that are all the same sizes. According to Lang Antiques, “Historically, the gemstones were set in separate collets and later in prong or claw mountings (much like modern tennis bracelets.) Rivieres are usually designed without any ornamentation allowing the gemstones to be featured. Some rivieres conceal a small hinged loop or loops that allow for the suspension of a pendant(s). Popular since the mid-eighteenth century, early designs were comprised of collets bound together by cord or ribbon while contemporary rivieres are linked together.”
